This question is not an invitation for you to tell your life story. Focus on what the interviewer wants to hear. In other words, the specifics about what you are going to do to fulfill the needs of the company you are interviewing with.
You need to learn how to give the answer in a clear and concise way.
It’s important to talk about the qualities of yourself, but much more important to demonstrate the way you possess the qualities that THEY want.
The best way is to tell a success story. This will highlight the quality that you are trying to show.
Did you solve a problem? Save the company money? Implement new software? Create new policies and procedures? Come up with a creative idea?
Do research on the company. This will enable you to pinpoint the area they are looking for the most.
Finally, a quick recap about your answer. Start out by giving a recap of your employment history, successes and how that has led you up to where you are now. You can then transition by explaining the qualities that have enabled you to reach the goals that you have.
